Kylee Stanton is dedicated to ensuring fair treatment and better opportunities for the Mackay community.

By electing Kylee, residents of Mackay will have a passionate advocate who understands both urban and regional challenges and is committed to addressing critical issues like healthcare, small business support and community safety.

Born and raised in Brisbane, Kylee spent many childhood holidays on her grandparents’ grazing properties in Toowoomba and Stanthorpe, gaining a unique blend of urban opportunities and agricultural education. In 2014, Kylee, her husband and their children moved to Mackay, highlighting the disparity in services between regional Queensland and the South-East.

“One example is our Health System. While it is in crisis across the State, the further away from the South-East, the fewer services we have. My son lost his fingers due to delayed surgery. We pay the same taxes and deserve the same quality healthcare.”

Kylee has spent most of her working life as a self-employed small business owner, understanding the challenges faced by small businesses.

“Small businesses face tough challenges with bureaucratic red tape, GST and tax obligations. The cost of living crisis under this Labor Government is a significant issue.”

Kylee wants to see small businesses prosper while having free time for their families and responsibilities, instead of dealing with excessive bookkeeping and regulations.

“We trust our Queensland farmers to care for their land and will support them with research and development opportunities to increase productivity and water efficiency.”

“I believe in governing for all Queenslanders, not just the South-East. I will fight to make Mackay thrive by supporting investment in regional infrastructure and attracting health and education workers. Mackay needs a representative who will promote innovation and diversification in key sectors.”

As a crime victim, Kylee emphasises the need for strict sentencing and community safety.

“I will always put Mackay first.”
