ABOUT US

Previously known as the “People's Mayor of the Whitsunday Regional Council,” Julie Hall is passionately committed to ensuring that the residents of Whitsunday have a voice in the decisions made by the government that affect their lives and community. During her time as Mayor, Julie introduced the Community Engagement Strategy 2024-28, adopted by the Council in January 2024, and facilitated regular community catch-up sessions across the Whitsunday Regional Council electorate.
Julie remains dedicated to giving the people of the Whitsunday electorate a voice, criticising major parties for losing touch with what truly matters: the welfare of the people, their families, and their livelihoods. She believes that the government needs to be held accountable, which underscores the importance of having strong representation standing for the people in parliament. As a One Nation Candidate, Julie emphasises that she represents the people, not the party line.
Before serving as the Whitsunday Regional Council Mayor, Julie ran her own consulting and personal development business for 16 years. She understands firsthand the challenges faced by small businesses due to rising costs and government red tape and policies. Her strong work ethic and determination, developed from running her own business, were evident during her time as Mayor, demonstrating her willingness to work hard and hands-on for her constituents.
Julie is critical of the major parties, citing the LNP's commitment to Net Zero and the Queensland Labor Government's Clean Economy Jobs Bill 2024, which she says jeopardise regional jobs. She is passionate about protecting the natural environment and the Great Barrier Reef but advocates for a realistic and balanced approach. Julie also stresses the need to address local issues such as roads, housing, youth crime, and state government cost shifting to local government, which pressures ratepayers. She calls for an end to vote-buying and broken promises by both Labor and the LNP, urging the people of the Whitsundays to support her for a strong crossbench to ensure their voices are heard. It is time to put people before politics, and that is what Julie Hall stands for.
I’m passionate about Whitsunday and I’ve dedicated my career to delivering for our community.
