Born in Brisbane and raised on a farm near Maleny, Brenda Turner's early life took a turn when her family moved closer to Brisbane for her disabled sister's medical care. Following her parents' separation, her mother, sister and she moved frequently, instilling in Brenda resilience and adaptability. Upon reaching adulthood, Brenda pursued her education in Brisbane, completing her year 12 certificate while working and taking various life skills courses. Brenda's drive to improve skills and help others led to volunteering for multiple causes.

In 2006, Brenda relocated to the Atherton Tablelands, eventually settling in Yungaburra. Brenda continued to educate herself through formal education and life experiences, working in diverse fields such as caring, cleaning, administration and public service. Currently, Brenda is a Sole Trader and finds the greatest satisfaction in helping others.

Throughout her life, Brenda has remained committed to a philosophy of happiness and mutual support. Growing up with a disabled sister taught Brenda to value every moment and fight for the rights of others. Brenda is passionate about helping those in crisis, particularly the elderly, disabled, and victims of bullying and abuse. Brenda's strengths lie in creativity, quick learning, and a caring nature, always striving for a win-win situation through logical and innovative thinking.

Brenda enjoys arts and crafts, jewelry making, fossicking, socialising with friends, fishing, camping, snorkeling, scuba diving, gardening, ballroom dancing, watching good movies, and spending time with family. Brenda is also passionate about politics, justice and ensuring everyone gets a fair go.

Brenda's diverse work experience includes roles as a kitchen hand, cleaner, car detailer, deli assistant, sales assistant, pizza shop assistant, clerk (both public and private sectors), Justice of the Peace, and Sole Trader. Brenda is also a multi-award-winning author, with titles addressing bullying.

Brenda has volunteered in various capacities, from kitchen assistance and elderly support to counseling and helping victims of abuse. Brenda founded the Millaa Millaa Garden Club, which significantly boosted the town's tourism and beautification efforts, earning her the Doris Killan Award.

Brenda holds a year 12 certificate, various certificates in cake decorating, dressmaking, IT and scuba diving, and diplomas in Counselling and Business (Leadership). Brenda's ongoing education includes numerous university short courses in psychology, sociology, science, leadership, and more.

Brenda has received numerous awards for community service, gardening, and writing, including the Doris Killan Award and several book awards.

Brenda is committed to addressing the multifaceted issues facing the community with a holistic approach. Brenda has the courage to stand up for her constituents, advocate for their needs, and ensure Far North Queensland receives the attention and support it deserves. Brenda's dedication to service and community makes her the ideal representative for her electorate.

I am tired of Hill being ignored, we need a powerful voice in Parliament that won't be bullied, I have that voice and I will get the job done.
