Born in Germany, Arno Blank migrated to Australia with his parents in 1959. He holds Australian citizenship, obtained in 1977. Arno has two children, Nicholas and Corina, and is a proud grandfather of five. He currently resides in Branyan, Queensland.

Arno worked as a commercial fisherman in Bass Strait from 1970 to 2006 and served as President of the Victorian Scallop Industry Association (VSIA) from 1991 to 2006. During this time, he represented commercial fishermen at both state and federal levels. He holds qualifications as a Master Mariner Class 4 and Marine Engineer, and a Diploma in Leadership and Management from Careers Australia. His interests include fishing, outdoor activities, and regularly walking his dog.

Arno is deeply committed to addressing critical issues affecting Australians. He is frustrated with government promises that are not kept, particularly regarding the cost of living. He believes that the current government is too focused on political correctness and neglects real issues like price gouging in supermarkets, high fuel prices, and skyrocketing electricity costs. Arno hears these concerns from people everywhere he goes and stresses that actions speak louder than words—a principle he stands by and believes One Nation embodies.

Among the urgent issues Arno aims to address are housing shortages, with families living in tents along the Burnett River due to unaffordable rents. He advocates for halting immigration until housing issues are resolved. Other priorities include tackling crime, improving healthcare for seniors, rebuilding regions to support farmers and fishing communities, ensuring Queensland works for all Queenslanders, and addressing natural disaster mitigation. Arno is dedicated to economic recovery for small businesses and enhancing transport and infrastructure in regional, rural, and remote areas.

Growing up in a hard-working family, Arno left school at 15 to help support his family through commercial fishing. He understands the struggles of real-world hardships and is committed to making positive changes. Through One Nation, Arno aims to improve the lives of all Australians, reflecting his lifelong dedication to hard work and community support.

I’m passionate about Burnett and I’ve dedicated my career to delivering for our community.
